The annual sports extravaganza of IIT Kanpur, Udghosh’21, presented by PERF, powered by Tecno Mobile, banking Partner SBI, educational partner Iqra IAS, is just around the corner. The atmosphere is brimming with excitement, and the sports fest continued to be the flagbearer of intercollegiate sports as it marked its presence in the online medium by conducting a variety of pre-fest events, guest sessions and competitions for the students’ junta.
Our guest panel included Dr Kiran Bedi, the former IPS officer and Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry. She motivated the students to be fearless in their pursuit of success and give their absolute best in all their endeavours.
She also inaugurated our initiative “Wednesday For Women”, wherein we appreciate the courage and efforts put forward by female sportspersons through social media posts and online sessions with eminent female personalities.
We also invited the renowned UPSC exam faculty Mr Awadh Ojha to hold a session for campus students to give them deeper insights regarding the Civil Services Exam. He cleared the doubts of the students concerning the exam and gave them tips to ease their path to success. Other prominent guests included Mr Shankar Basu, former Head Coach of Strength and Conditioning of the Indian Cricket team. We had also had the privilege to host celebrity nutritionist Jinal Shah and fitness influencer Swetha Subbiah.
In the online mode, it would’ve been considered tough for a sports fest to maintain its presence among students. But Udghosh took up this behemoth challenge and successfully engaged the student community. During the previous IPL season, we conducted a trivia quiz called ‘IPL Hunt’ and a prediction contest for the student junta, which saw tremendous participation and intrigued students with mindboggling questions and facts about IPL.
We maintained our active presence on the social media handles, keeping up to date with the happening in the world of stops, keeping the students well informed with our timely social media posts. Our extensive coverage of the Olympics was well appreciated amongst students, and our initiative “Wednesday For Women” garnered admiration from all the echelons of the community.
So, as it has been evident, the year had been filled with a lot of excitement for the students for Udghosh. But we promise even more fun and exhilaration during our fest. So get ready to be drenched in the thrill of sports with Udghosh ’21, presented by PERF and powered by Tecno Mobile.
