The History and Significance of 95th Regatta: A Look Back and Ahead
95th Regatta: COEP is one of the prominent Engineering Colleges in India. COEP is famous for its academics and its extracurricular activities, fests, events, and more. COEP Regatta is one of them. Regatta means boat races. COEP Regatta is one of the unique fests in India.
COEP Students Pursue Their Hopes and Wills. They worked tough day and night for the planning of the fest. The most crucial thing in Regatta is participants’ practice in various shows for at least two months. Despite having academic examination, participants and all the committee members have set up this remarkable show.
Students practiced day and night full of dedication and fire in their souls. The boat club President, Boat Club vice president, Regatta In-charge, and all faculty advisors used to support the students in all the ways that were possible for them.
The COEP Regatta has mainly five shows Kayak Ballet, Shell Games, Tele-Matches, Punt Formation and Mashaal Dance. These events exhibit the unique and rare boats that exist in India.
Kayak Ballet: Kayaks glide over the water with elegance, speed, and agility. They glide through the murky rivers ablaze. It’s the relentless toughness of the kayak ballet parade.
Shell Games: Shell games require a lot of core power. The strength of the shell gamers breaches through life and pain.
Tele-Matches: It is a show which requires lots of courage and determination. The calm waters and the roaring fire collectively create a marvelous sight referred to as Tele-Matches.
Punt Formation: It is a show which requires lots of coordination and understanding. The formation of many shapes with the punts(boats) in the dark waters portrays the glory of lights.
Mashaal Dance: It is the only show of Regatta which boats are not used and takes place on the bank of river opposite COEP Boat Club. Participants with lightened mashaal create static as well as moving shapes based on theme and message to convey.
