About Maharashtra State Senior Athletics Championships 2023

The 71st Maharashtra State Senior Athletics Championships will be conducted at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune from 21st to 23rd May, 2023. The Championship shall be organized in accordance with the Rules of World Athletics –Competition & Technical Rules 2022 Edition & Indian Athletics Manual (updated as on 01.10.2020).

Athletes to represent Maharashtra State in the 62nd National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships to be held at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, from 15.6.2023 to 18.6.2023 and in the 62nd National Open Athletics Championships to be held at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand from 11.10.2023 to 14.10.2023 will be selected on the basis of performance in this Championship.

Performance of this championship will only be considered for selection and no other performances will be considered. In other words, participation in this championship is mandatory to be considered for selection.

The latest Covid-19 SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) issued by Athletics Federation of India & Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra shall be followed for hosting this Championship.

Championship Details

The Competition will be organized in MEN & WOMEN section. Athletes below the Age of 16 as on 23rd May, 2023 are not permitted to participate in this Championship.

Boys & Girls Under 18 Years

(a) An athlete can participate in two individual events and One Relay

(b) If the two individual events are track events, only one of these individual events may be longer than 200m.

No. of entries each district can send

Districts are permitted 3 Entries per event and one entry per Relay. Relay runner’s entry must be submitted and having a Bib Number for Relay Runners will be mandatory. District should send the Entry for those Events which are organised in the District Championships.

Procedure for sending entries

The entries should be submitted on the entry page of Maharashtra on the AFI website. All the districts have been provided with a user id and password and they need to use that for submitting the entries.

It is mandatory that all athletes representing the districts must apply and obtain AFI UID number without which entries may not be acceptable. The payment also has to be done while submitting the entries and 2% gateway charges will be charged for collecting the money on behalf of the association. Entries can be submitted only once and a detailed excel sheet can be downloaded for our records.

The receipt for the payment will be sent to the email from which the entries have been submitted. It is advised to submit the entry from the official email of the district association. The entries have to be submitted as above from 25.4.2023 to 17.5.2023 at 5.00 pm.

NADA

National Anti-Doping Agency may be present during the Meet and it will mandatory to all the athletes to report for Dope Test whenever asked by the NADA.

Banned Athletes

All the District Secretaries should ensure that they do not include names of athletes, who are under suspension for Doping.

Entry Fees

Entry fee will be Rs. 500/- per event shall be paid along with the ENTRY. Bib Numbers will be issued from 6.00 PM a day before the competition at the venue during the Technical Meeting (Manager’s Meeting). The entry fee paid is non-refundable.

Events to be conducted

Event List with the Qualifying Standard is enclosed. For Selection of the State Team the Qualifying Standard as set by the Selection Committee, MAA or the Entry Standard prescribed by the AFI, whichever is better will be considered.

Medals and Certificates

Medals and Certificate will be awarded in this Senior Athletics Championships.

Boarding & lodging

Pleased be informed that the Boarding, Lodging & Local Transport facilities to participating Athletes will not be provided by the Maharashtra Athletics Association or the Organisers. Athletes will therefore have to make their own arrangements in this regard.
