All India Ayurveda Day 2021 Photography Competition 2021, National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur, Rajasthan, November 02, 2021

About Event: On the occasion of 6th Ayurveda Day (Dhanwantari Jayanti), National Institute of Ayurveda, Deemed to be University (De-novo), Jaipur is going to organise All India Photography with Caption Contest.

The competition is open to all UG students/Interns/PG students/PhD scholars/teachers/registered practitioners from Ayurveda stream. General Public can also participate in separate category.

  1. Participation is free for all.
  2. Student or person can participate in anyone of following category according to their eligibility

Category A: For Students/teachers/registered practitioners from Ayurveda stream

Category B: For General Public

  1. All participants are required to caption their photograph with unique description in 20-30 words. Caption can be in HINDI/ENGLISH. Caption should mandatorily include Sanskrit and botanical name of the plant. Category B participants can write vernacular name of the plant instead of Sanskrit name (for participants sending plant pictures).
  2. Theme for photo

Category A: Object mentioned as simile in classical Ayurveda texts.

Any object mentioned as simile in classical Ayurveda texts during description of

Disease/disease lakshana/arishta lakshana/concept etc. Participant should submit object photo and photo of disease/disease condition/related concept separately as two photographs. eg. For shuddha rakta, simile used in texts is tapanīyēndragōpābhaṁ padmālaktakasannibham guñjāphalasavarṇaṁ, so participant can take and send photo of indragopa / Padma/alaktat / gunja phala along with photo of shudha rakta for contest. Participant must give the reference of the object including original shloka, text name, chapter and verse number along with caption.

Category B: Ayurveda in daily life

Participant can submit photos of plant near his/her locality, spices/herbs from kitchen garden, Yogasana photos, Dincharya (Ayurveda daily routine) photos, photos of Ayurvedic dietary preparations used in daily life etc. with a suitable caption.

  1. Photos submitted must be in JPEG format and file size of each photo should not be more than 10 MB.
  2. Participants should submit their entries to https://forms.gle/4sqmSF6tLFQQKsBXA
  3. Students are required to submit scanned copy of identity card of college or institute issued by principal / head of department/ institute. Teachers and registered practitioners must upload a valid identity card issued by competent authority.
  4. Category B participants must submit their photo along with scanned AADHAR CARD/ valid identity card issued by competent authority.
  5. The identity or any other detail should not be revealed anywhere in the photo. There must be no border(s), logo(s), identifying marks of college/institute/place etc.
  6. Basic editing including colour enhancement, use of filters, cropping is acceptable provided such editing does not affect authenticity of the photo. Advanced editing like illusion creation, manipulations, removing significant elements within the frame is prohibited.
  7. Submitted photo must be original and taken by participant. The photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.
  8. The institute will have the right to use, publish and release of winning photos under their banner with no conditions.
  9. Submitted photo must not have been published or submitted in a competition earlier.
  10. The participant will solely be responsible for any issue arising out of copyright or conflict of interest of submitted photo.
  11. Only one submission is allowed per participant.
  12. Panel of judges will assess the photos after coding and the decision of panel will be final. No queries will be entertained after declaration of results.
  13. The result will be declared in ceremony organized by NIA, Jaipur on Ayurveda Day, 2021.
  14. Cash Prize of ₹5,000 and ₹2,000 along with certificate will be awarded to 1st and 2nd winner in each category separately.
  15. All participants should strictly abide by the guidelines. Any deviance shall lead to disqualification.
  16. The decision regarding acceptance, rejection and the award of the prizes for the photos would be solely by competent authority, National Institute of Ayurveda, Deemed to be University (De Novo), Jaipur and remain abiding to all the participants.

First Prize – Rs. 5,000/-

Second Prize – Rs. 2,000/-
