DSU Honorary Internship Program 2022: The Delhi Sports University(DSU) was established by the Delhi Sports University Act, 2019 (Act 01 of 2020, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi) to promote a career in elite sports, provide professional sports education, facilitate sports research and develop a sporting culture across communities to positively contribute to public health. The key vision of the university is to contribute towards the development of a facilitative and comprehensive sports ecosystem for talent scouting, grassroots talent mentoring, development of world-class sports infrastructure and fostering India’s sports talent to compete with their global peers.

DSU is a first of its kind school-university integrated institution for excellence in sports education with the aim to provide world-class sports training and education. It will run and administer multiple Delhi Sports Schools from grades 6th to 12th to build foundational core competencies in prospective high performing sportspersons. Apart from world-class sports training and infrastructure and a special customised sports integrated curriculum, DSU will also make use of sports science to enhance the performance of its student athletes.

Through its Internship Programme, DSU will provide a valuable opportunity to students, scholars, researchers and professionals to work first-hand with a State Government University on a range of solutions in the field of sports and education by enabling the research, planning and implementation of well thought out practices, policies and plans.

Inviting Applications for Delhi Sports University Honorary Internship Program

Delhi Sports University is inviting applications from students/ scholars/ researchers for internship with Delhi Sports University to provide them exposure and an opportunity to engage on a variety of tasks being undertaken by Delhi Sports University in the areas of :-

• Sports Research
• Teacher Development
• Media and Communication
• Information Technology
• Admission and Placement

The “Interns” would be expected to supplement the process of analysis within Delhi Sports University through empirical methods using in-house resources and information available in public domain. The shortlisted interns might be expected to work with officers/officials of Delhi Sports University or may be required to contribute in an individual capacity. They may also be required to evolve strategies for expeditious implementation of the recommendations made by Delhi Sports University.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Sports Research
   • To contribute to research and designing the sports training for Delhi Sports School (Grades 6-12) and Delhi Sports University in collaboration with external agencies.
   • To contribute in developing the assessments for identified sports for Delhi Sports School.
   • To contribute to managing and streamlining stakeholders’ inputs related to talent scouting and sports training.
2. Teacher Development
   • To assist in holding and managing training courses for teachers of various backgrounds.
   • For assisting teachers and other staff to set progress goals for their classrooms.
   • To contribute to evaluating teachers’ progress and determine where they can improve.
   • To assist in compiling reports and presenting it to school administrators and other involved stakeholders. This includes answering any questions raised by upper management and presenting new strategies for improving teaching staff’s performance.
3. Media and Communication
   • To contribute in developing & executing medium specific strategies for promotion of Delhi Sports University’s Programs on various platforms.
   • Strategize and execute a social media plan for DDC Delhi and its key initiatives.
   • Support in photo and video documentation of DSU events.
   • Create, edit and proof-read copy for DSU’s website, social media channels, press releases, reports, video scripts, policy briefs, newsletters, jingles, blogs etc.
   • Design and illustrate creative graphics for a variety of media by following specified guidelines.
   • Handle all aspects of pre and post-production to create high-quality, engaging and original videos for cross-platform usage.
   • Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the reporting manager.
4. Information Technology
   • To contribute for maintenance, up-gradation and redesign of IT platforms and infrastructure, which is bound to help DSU to achieve its mandate of promoting Sports.
   • To be engaged with the DSU team and other stakeholders to help to determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule.
5. Admission and Placement
   • To assist in creating policies related to admissions and placement of students.
   • To provide assistance on boarding new students by explaining rules and regulations to students and their parents.
   • To assist in preparing content related to notification, brochures for advertising and admissions material.
   • To assist the officials of the university in reaching out to external agencies for future placements.

Selection Process and Eligibility Criteria

The interns will be selected after an open call for application followed by a personal interview selection process and with the approval of competent authority. The applicants should be willing to commit a minimum of twelve weeks (extendable up to 24 weeks) for a full-time internship programme. On completion of the internship period of three months or six months, as the case may be, the intern will be issued an experience certificate/completion of internship certificate/ letter of award on the basis of his/her performance. If any intern does not complete the period of internship or his/her performance/conduct is not up to mark, he/she will not be issued any experience certificate/completion of internship certificate/ letter of award. Period of Internship will be for at least three months and up to a maximum of six months. No stipend/remuneration will be paid.

1. The applicant should have a minimum educational qualification of Graduate degree or appearing in the final year of Graduate degree from any recognised University/Institution.
2. The applicant should have fluency in Hindi and English.
3. The applicant should not be more than 30 years of age at the time of applying.
