Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at Ateneo de Manila University awards MA Journalism fellowships for Asian working journalists. Fellowships are available for journalists who can demonstrate excellence in their work and are contributing in a significant way to the press in their own societies. Applicants must have at least two (2) years experience as a full time photojournalist/multimedia journalist, photographer or journalist. Full grants cover tuition fees, books, travel (international and domestic) and living expenses for the on-campus sessions. Other forms of support are available to senior journalists, teachers and part-time working journalists. The application deadline is 15 January 2016.

Eligibility: An applicant must possess the following criteria to be eligible:-

  • Has met the requirements for admission to the program

Scholarship Description: A distance learning program designed for Asian working journalists who seek to develop the Asian perspective in their work, intensify their commitment to journalism’s ideals and be at the cutting-edge in a global, technologically sophisticated environment. The coursework consists of 12 courses taught by an international faculty using blended learning (i.e. online learning and face-to-face learning) methods. About 20 students from various Asian countries are admitted each year. As of 2013, more than 100 journalists from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam have enrolled. The program is administered by ACFJ under the Ateneo Department of Communication.

Selection Criteria: The ACFJ Fellowships for MA Journalism sponsor Asian journalists who can demonstrate excellence in their work and are contributing in a significant way to the press in their own societies. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. A screening committee evaluates all applications and interviews of shortlisted candidates. Excellence in professional work, potential to succeed in the program and commitment to good journalism are key screening criteria.

  • Three (3) recommendation letters*
  • Certificate of employment (Form 3)
  • Resume (curriculum vitae) with 2 in. x 2 in. ID photo
  • Scanned copy of transcript of records from all colleges attended with certified English translation
  • Scanned copy of certificate of graduation/diploma from all colleges attended with certified English translation
  • Scanned copy of official post-baccalaureate (MA, MS, PhD) diploma or certificate of graduation and transcript of records, if applicable
  • Scanned copy of passport pages where your name, photo, birth date, birth place and valid visa appear
  • Doctor’s certificate of good health*
  • Links to or scanned copies of three (3) sample journalistic or similar works published within the last two years (max. of 10 pages).

The Agriculture Research Organization is offering postdoctoral fellowships for research during the fiscal year 2015-2016. The Fellowships are intended for Chinese and Indian citizens that have completed a PhD program from selected Institutes. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence that is reflected in productivity and impact in the field of study. The total award is 100,000 Israeli Shekels per year. The application deadline is June 1st 2015.

Study Subject (s): The fellowship program is designed to identify and support young scientists aspiring to become future leaders in the field of Agricultural Sciences in Universities of their home countries.

Eligibility: All applicants must satisfy this requirement in one of the ways listed below:

  • Satisfy score requirement in one of the following tests: TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language Minimum Score: 550 (or 213 in the computer version); IELTS (International English Language Testing System Minimum Score: 6.5); MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery Minimum Score: 80)
  • Provide proof of completion of a previous degree program in an English language university.

The main objectives of the fellowships is to avail excellent and promising scientists with the opportunity to become proficient in advanced technologies present in the Agriculture Research Organization and to establish future collaborations with Israeli scientists.

What does it cover? The total award is 100,000 Israeli Shekels per year.

Selection criteria: Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence that is reflected in productivity and impact in the field of study (e.g. scientific publications, presentations at scientific conferences, participation in scientific societies, awards, and teaching achievements). Special emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s scientific training and achievements.
